IT Career Information Campaign - background

Human resource shortage - one of the main challenges for the IT industry

Although the ICT sector in Moldova is in continuous growth, one of the major impediments for the sector to get to its full potential is the lack of qualified professionals. As the workforce development is a long term process, it is important to promote IT career among the young generation as a very attractive option.

During 1-31 July, ATIC and USAID CEED II Project, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, continued the active implementation of the IT Career promotion campaign - an initiative aiming to communicate and to increase public awareness on the benefits of embracing an IT career in Moldova.

After a rich experience of communication on the IT Career topic with the pupils from the high schools (see the "IT Career Live Presentations" Campaign), the time for attracting the "fourth power" in the promotion campaign has come.

Taking into consideration the large target audience represented by high-school graduates, their parents, but also - by their relatives and friends, the use of various communication channels has been essential. Several main components have been defined for the efficient delivery of the campaign messages: TV, radio, online campaign.

We would like to cordially thank Simpals, Teleradio Moldova, Prime, N4, Jurnal TV for supporting the campaign.

Special thanks to Mr. Tudor Darie, advisor to the Prime Minister on Youth Policy and Information Technologies, for being extremely supportive throughout the entire campaign and helping us by all means to guide young people to an interesting and successful career.
